Providing a Foster Home

Picture
Because  Furever Pet Rescue does not have physical property (shelter) in which to house our animals in need, we are grateful for the assistance of those willing to act as foster homes until permanent homes can be found.

All potential foster parent/s must complete this Foster Care Application Form. If possible, please type directly onto the form in the fields provided. Otherwise you may download the form and complete it by hand. You can email the completed form or post it to PO Box 6645, Zimbali, KZN, 4418.

At Furever Pet Rescue, we are committed not only to rehabilitating and re-homing our dogs, but to finding a great match between each animal and their new family. That includes any foster homes into which the animals are placed while we source permanent homes.

We rely on our foster family volunteers to:
  • Provide love and care for the animal/s in preparation for their adoption.
  • Provide food (Furever Pet Rescue will provide you with this if you are unable to do so) and clean drinking water for the animal/s.
  • Evaluate the animal/s and assist with matching them with a family during the adoption process.
  • Transport the animal/s to vet clinics for necessary health care (Furever Pet Rescue will cover the costs of medical treatment/care needed) if possible.
  • Transport the animal/s to adoption events if possible.

Fostering a dog or cat requires a big commitment of your time and resources. You must be certain that your own pets (if any) will be able to cope with foster animals. You must also ensure your pets are up-to-date on their vaccinations prior to taking in foster animals.

To become a foster parent for Furever Pet Rescue, you will need to meet our criteria. This includes a face-to-face meeting with you, as well as an inspection of your home and property.
